BRING SOME LOVE INTO YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW by Camille Aubray

“Snow-Chilled Champagne” with Camille Aubray

First of all, thank you Jacques Pépin for your wonderful new quote about my novel: “THE GODMOTHERS is my type of book; captivating, well written and full of love and drama.”

People have been telling me that they love the way that food, the seasons and the "wise philosophy" of my characters all come together in my novels, THE GODMOTHERS and COOKING FOR PICASSO. I think that, especially now, a connection to the seasons is a really vital antidote to modern stress.

So, what's it all about at this time of year? Well, don't think of spring and Valentine's Day solely in terms of how well you're doing in the romance department. It's really about the return of the sun and the love it bestows on everybody. Did you know that everything in nature loves you? So, why not love it back?

Count how the hours of daylight get longer every week now. Find a patch of sky to keep watch over, and see how the sunrise and the sunset spread a beautiful pink glow across the sky. Say hello to the stars at night, because at this time of year you can see them more clearly than in the summertime. Listen for the morning chirp of the returning birds. Close your eyes and hear the wind breathing through the trees like a good mother, and feel the joy that's reaching out to you.

And if the weather veers from cold to warm and back to cold, so what? Then the world becomes blessedly quiet again--before the lawn mowers kick in!

When it snows, I just make my favorite SNOW-CHILLED CHAMPAGNE. I swear that it tastes better! Just take a bottle of champagne or sparkling wine, plunge it into a snowbank that's not in direct sunlight, and in 20-30 minutes, open it up and salute the season!

When I want something warming to eat that's both elegant and comforting, I make my ROMANTIC RISOTTO. http://www.camilleaubray.com/recipes-1/2022/2/12/romantic-risotto-by-camille-aubray .

And if you want to fly away on a vacation without leaving your favorite easy chair, then have a sip of something nice and read a good book! When people ask me, "What made you write this novel?" I realize that the answer is, "I always write the book I"m looking for and can't find on any other shelf."
